COS - Community of Science

COS Funding Opportunities is a comprehensive database of international and Australian funding opportunities relevant to all academic disciplines. It includes over 22,000 records for more than 400,000 funding opportunities (grants, fellowships and prizes) worth over $33 billion. COS Funding Opportunities is international in both content and audience, providing access to funding information from public agencies, national and local governments, and private sector sponsors around the world. A useful feature is the ability to set up a profile to generate a weekly funding alert via email.

COS Scholar Universe provides authoritative information about more than 1.3 million active researchers around the world, together with verified affiliation and publication information. It allows researchers to find experts, collaborators, peers, mentors, consultants - even competitors. Discover who's doing what - current research activity, funding received, publications, patents, new positions and more.
Researchers can edit their profile to showcase their research and expertise amongst researchers and scholars from around the world and use convenient tools to keep their CV updated and accessible.

SPIN - Sponsored Programs Information Network

InfoEd’s SPINPlus is a Web-based subscription package that comprises SPIN, a funding opportunities database; GENIUS, a CV/Bio-Sketch; and SMARTS an automated alerts system.

  • SPIN (The Sponsored Programs Information Network) is a searchable database of funding opportunities in Australia and overseas. The SPIN database also contains Genius and Smarts modules. The Genius Module allows QUT based researchers to input research expertise details, whilst the Smarts module is an automated funding matching service for researchers based on key words.

Access SPIN and download the SPIN Quick Reference Guide.

  • SMARTS (The SPIN Matching And Research Transmittal Service) is an automated daily alerts system that notifies investigators of relevant new programs that match their GENIUS profiles. SMARTS pushes relevant funding opportunities to users saving them precious time and effort, while ensuring they are kept abreast of the latest programs in their areas of interest. SMARTS sends daily email reports in either Summary or Full Program format.
  • GENIUS (The Global Expertise Network for Industry, Universities, and Scholars) is a web-based database containing profiles of scholars and researchers at leading universities and research institutions throughout the world.
