Many things must be considered when preparing a grant application to optimise the chance of a successful outcome.   • Accurate, careful adherence to guidelines, rules, format and thematic/strategic priorities of the fund scheme
  • Demonstrate innovative, cutting-edge approaches
  • Highlight conceptual advances that will contribute to the field of knowledge
  • Articulate a clear description of the problems/issues and their significance in the field
  • Outline clear methodologies, processes, pathways for dealing with these
  • Provide a specific timetable and milestones where appropriate
  • Indicate availability of appropriate research infrastructure (equipment and facilities)
  • Demonstrate the research will advance current knowledge in the area
  • Highlight the track record of the researcher/research team and their ability to effectively manage a research project to fruition.
