ARC Discovery-Projects (including fellowships) 2009 for 2010 Funding

THE ARC HAS NOT YET OPENED THIS SCHEME: Funding Rules, Instructions and Sample Application Form currently provided through the links below are for the previous round and applicants will need to read the updated documents when the scheme is opened.

Processes for preparing and submitting ARC Discovery-Project grant applications aim to:

  • Ensure local and Office of Research processes are coordinated and clearly communicated to staff as early as possible
  • Encourage applicants to prepare applications earlier
  • Improve the quality of applications submitted by QUT in major rounds
  • Improve the value of Faculty/Institute peer review
  • Improve the value of Office of Research consultant and review services

Important: QUT has discretion not to submit applications to the ARC. A decision may be made not to submit an application, for example, if it is considered to be of particularly poor quality or includes clearly uncompetitive teams, if it is has not been reviewed by appropriately qualified peers, if it is does not meet QUT requirements or where Faculties/Institutes will not/cannot provide required infrastructure support. The Office of Research consults with and receives recommendations from Deans/Assistant Deans Research/Institute Directors in such cases.

ARC Linkage-Projects (Round One): 2008 for 2009 Funding

THIS SCHEME HAS CLOSED: One copy of the application and required attachments (including a Research Funding Coversheet) must be submitted to the Office of Research by the following dates. Once the application is finalised, the original and two copies will be required and the application will need to be validated and submitted through GAMS.

  • Internal Closing Date Round 1: 25 April 2008
  • Exemption & Eligibility Rulings Internal Closing Date: 26 March 2008

Please note that a Linkage-Project application for essentially the same project may not be submitted twice in consecutive rounds (See page 14 of the 2009 Funding Rules)

Your Faculty/Institute will submit your application to the Office of Research.

ARC Future Fellowships **NEW**

THIS SCHEME IS CURRENTLY CLOSED: Opening approximately October 2008 (TBC)

Over a five-year period (2009-2013), Future Fellowships will offer four-year Fellowships of up to $140,000 a year to 1,000 Australian and international top researchers in the middle of their careers. In addition, each researcher's administering organisation will receive funding of up to $50,000 per year to support related infrastructure, equipment, travel and relocation costs.
