Research coversheets can now be filled in ONLINE via QUT Virtual. All external applications submitted through the Office of Research for both internal and external funding opportunities must have a Research Funding Coversheet completed.

The online coversheet has been created to streamline the submission process and includes and electronic certification loop so that hard copies of the coversheet are not required and processing is expedited by the electronic workflow.

For more information please see our FAQ page.

There are several cohorts of grants which require additional information to be supplied - the information is contained in the additional documents below. Please be sure to upload these when prompted during the SUPPORTING ATTACHMENTS section of the online form.

Should you have any issues with the online form please refer to the hard copy form, however we would ask that you report any technical errors with the form you may be experiencing to researchonline@qut.edu.au

For more information and FAQ please see our online form page.

See Classifications + Codes for information on broad fields of research and AOU, FOR and SEO codes.

Why does the Office of Research require a funding coversheet?

The data contained on this coversheet is used for ABS and DEEWR reporting as well as for the analysis of faculty and university research performance, so it is imperative that the submission of research applications is recorded accurately.

The Coversheet also enables the distribution of workload across Chief Investigators to be accurately recorded and ensures that Faculties and Institutes (as relevant) have provided approval for the Office of Research to submit proposals and will provide appropriate infrastructure (eg. time of research personnel, space, equipment, etc) if a proposal is successful.
