All original submissions for approval to apply for ARC Linkage research funding must be accompanied by a Combined ARC Linkage Certification/QUT Research Funding Coversheet (updated Sep 08).

It is important that the Coversheet is filled out correctly and comprehensively as this information is used to record your project on ResearchMaster (RM), for research performance analysis and for reporting and promotion purposes.

Guidelines

Project dates: Please enter the estimated end date of the project (the start date for this round of ARC Linkage funding has been inserted for you). If the project end date changes after submission of this form please email researchdata@qut.edu.au.

Investigator details: Please ensure you include the first and last name and title of each QUT and external/partner investigator.

    QUT Investigators:

    • ECR: Please indicate whether the QUT Investigator is an Early Career Researcher (ECR).
An ECR is defined as someone who is in the first five years of his/her academic or research-only employment, allowing for uninterrupted, continuous research development, following the award of a PhD or recognised equivalent. Staff concurrently enrolled in a research higher degree program, but who have not yet submitted their thesis, can also be considered an ECR.
Staff who have been actively involved in research or research related activities over a number of years, but have only recently received a PhD (or equivalent) are not considered to be ECRs.
    • Faculty/Institute: Please list the area in which each QUT investigator is working for THIS PROJECT.

Institute members: please indicate whether you are doing this project in an institute capacity or faculty capacity. It is important that institute members who are researching in an institute capacity are listed against that institute.

For example, if you are a chief investigator who is a member of ISR and from the School of Maths:

      1. If your project relates to ecological sustainability you should list ‘ISR’ on the coversheet. Your contribution will then be reported to both your faculty and ISR. If you do not enter ‘ISR’ on the coversheet your contribution to the project will only be reported to your faculty.
      2. If your project relates to theoretical maths you should instead list ‘Faculty of Science’ on the coversheet, as the project is not related to ISR. Your contribution to the project is then only reported to your faculty.

NB: If the chief investigator is working in an IHBI capacity please also enter their domain of research (please visit the IHBI website at http://www.ihbi.qut.edu.au/research/ for a list of these). If you are unsure of the IHBI domain to enter please email ihbiresearch@qut.edu.au
    • Time commitment: Please list the estimated time commitment of each QUT investigator to THIS PROJECT, expressed as a percentage of their entire workload. For example, 2 days per 20 day working month = 10%, 4 days per 20 day working month = 20%
    • Funding split: Please list the estimated split of funding between QUT investigators (total must equal 100%). This information is required for IGS/RTS funding distribution purposes. Information on IGS and RTS grants is available at IGS and RTS grants. The funding split is also being used to report faculty and institute research income for QUT KPIs.
    • HPC: Please indicate if any QUT Investigators are using High Performance Computing (HPC) in this project. Information on HPC.

External/Partner Investigator Details: Please ensure you provide all the information requested, especially their full name (not simply their initials), including title, and their gender. Please also ensure you provide the full name of their institution/organisation and their base country (if not Australia).

Project Collaboration and Involvement: If this project involves International Collaboration or is an Indigenous Project please provide the requested details. Please be aware that information on QUT’s international collaborations will be displayed on the International Strategy Information Systems (ISIS) database, which is only accessible to QUT personnel. Information on ISIS.

Ethical Clearance: Please indicate whether ethical clearance will be required, and if so, indicate the specific area(s) - human, animal, biosafety, GMOs - requiring ethical clearance and their ethical clearance status. Please note: A research account cannot be opened until the relevant ethical clearances are obtained. Information on ethical clearance requirements.
