Faculty Research Centres - The Lynchpins in QUT's Collaborative Research Activities

A substantial component of QUT's collaborative research activity is undertaken through its Faculty Research Centres. These centres are well-equipped to promote and foster research and research training activities and provide an excellent platform for collaborative research involving industry partners.

Business Australian Centre for Business Research
Education Centre for Innovation in Education
Health Centre for Health Research
Humanities Centre for Social Change Research
Science The Science Research Centre

Collaborative Research Centres

QUT firmly supports the concept of collaborative research centres involving external partners. One extremely successful example is the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety - Queensland (CARRS - Q) , established in 1996 as a joint venture initiative of the Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) and QUT. The centre was created to address the enormous human, economic and social costs resulting from road crashes and is recognised as a vital international player in road safety and accident prevention research and education.

Collaborative Centres

QUT also supports Collaborative Centres in areas of strategic importance and national benefit. These include:

  • Centre of Philanthropy and Non-Profit Studies
  • National Centre for Classification in Health
  • Centre for Palliative Care Research and Education
  • Centre for Rugby Studies.
