In 2020, Queensland University of Technology and the Australian Childhood Foundation collaborated to form the National Guidelines for Trauma-Aware Schooling. These Guidelines have been developed at a critical time for education in Australia, as all educators and school leaders respond to a rapidly growing awareness about the impact of complex trauma on education and life outcomes for children and young people.
